What got you into cosplay?
I always enjoyed looking at people's costumes before I actually started attending conventions or cosplaying. When I started college I joined an anime club and one of their big things was they went to Ohayocon every year. I figured it would be neat to start out going to conventions in costume-- and my grandmother agreed to make me a Temari costume for my birthday so I could go in costume.
After that I just really enjoyed being in costume, and I started wanting to learn more about making costumes myself. I still have a LONG way to go, as I haven't really done too much yet, but I'm so excited to learn! I hoping to do some of my first real costuming on my own this summer.
What was your first costume and why?
My first costume was Temari from Naruto. My two favorite characters from the series are her and Sakura-- and I knew Sakura was pretty hated, so I decided on Temari. I loved her hardcore attitude and admired her strength-- she's a very multifaceted character, with her love for her brothers but her easy irritability with Shikamaru.
I also loved her costume she wore during the Sasuke retriveal arc, and decided I had to do it. I think I honestly was pulled in by the corset armor and the giant bow.
What is your favorite costume and why?
I love my Shippuuden Sakura costume-- my grandmother and I worked together on it, even if she did most of it. I've been adding bits and changing things on it since I first wore it at MTAC, including a butt pouch my friend Miaka2u made for my birthday and some gloves I altered.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
I haven't seen enough anime series to honestly have a dream costume-- there are a few I'd love to do, though, but they're all very simple. But if I could get thin enough, I might try Ayame's costume from Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven and some stuff from Final Fantasy.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Meeting Miaka2u and Genki-u_Hinagiku. It was spontaneous and insane XD I don't think I've ever cried so much over being separated from someone after only knowing them for three days.
Do you participate in masquerades?
I have once, but I'm not too particualrly fond of participating. I'd rather watch or help other people who are preparing for one; I don't costume for awards, I do it for fun and to spend time with my friends.
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
Nope,and I'm not that worried about it either!
Tell us a little about yourself
I'm a college student who recently moved from Michigan to Louisiana to Georgia, going for an elementary education degree.
I'm a Christian.
I enjoy RPing, going for walks, video games and playing around on my computer, like learning photoshop and other programs. Most of my stuff on the computer I've taught to myself.
