What got you into cosplay?
Back in 2005 my friend asked me to cosplay characters from D.N.Angel with her and I agreed. Since then this has been a very dear hobby for me. Actually, more than just dear - I can't begin to count all the great people I've met during my cosplay "career" and the wonderful things I've had the chance to experience.
What was your first costume and why?
Dark from D.N.Angel, because my friend asked me to be him.
What is your favorite costume and why?
It's a tie between Vincent and Gwendolyn. In Vincent I really loved making of all the props and little details, while Gwendolyn's gown is definitely the most fun to wear. I might not be that in character while cosplaying her, but it's so much fun to dance around in that huuuge skirt. *u*
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
The first one happened at my first real "big" convention (Animecon IV); someone came to sing me Melissa (the first opening theme of FMA) when I was cosplaying Edward. x3
The second really memorable one happened just recently. I was cosplaying Vincent at Tracon IV, and it was quite hard and slow to walk around with those boots of his. I was having trouble landing down the stairs, so my group's Cid decided to give me a piggyback ride. Originally she was supposed to carry me just down the stairs, but she ended up carrying me through the whole convention area, all the way from the first building to the third. *w*
Do you participate in masquerades?
Lately I've been more interested in doing so. I'm not a veteran contestant and I don't have plans to become one, but I like the stage every now and then - whether it's to compete or to just perform.
What was your best masquerade experience?
Cosplay Gaala 2009 (as Vincent Valentine). First all the comments I got from the judges and then later when they announced I actually won the competition... that feeling was just like woah.
Tell us a little about yourself
I'm a senior student in Helsinki's Upper Secondary School of Visual Arts. As you probably already noted, I like cosplaying. I draw, I read, I play games and sometimes write stuff. I live with my mother and we have two dogs (dachshund) called Siri and her pup Aruruu.
