What got you into cosplay?
If you define cosplay loosely, and count all replica costumes regardless of genre, it would be Star Wars: Episode 1. I HAD to have a Jedi robe, and it snowballed from there.
What was your first costume and why?
In 1999 I first made a set of Jedi tunics, replica of Qui-Gon's, because he's my favorite character. It's true cosplay, I researched the costume to make sure the details were right, and even wear my hair up in the right style. My first anime costume was a set of Dragonball fight togs, the kind chibi Goku and Krillin wear, because I wanted a comfortable costume to wear at DragonCon when not in multi-layer Jedi robes or corseted into a can-can dress.
What is your favorite costume and why?
I have over 20 costumes, I can't pick a favorite.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Celtic Guardian or Dark Paladin (Yu-Gi-Oh)
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Kicking off my shoe while doing the can-can on stage during a Masquerade was pretty unforgettable...

Yes.
What was your best masquerade experience?
CONvergence '09 - reaching Master level by winning Best in Show with Ferid and Arshtat from Suikoden V.

Tell us a little about yourself
I'm a poor seamstress, working by day in a banner/flag shop and in my spare time doing replica costumes on commission. I write fanfic, draw fanart and doujinshi, build props, roleplay, and do lots of other creative things that don't earn me money but are lots of fun.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
Anime cosplayers and sci-fi costumers need to get together more and share tips - we're all doing the same thing, just under different terminology. Cosplay could learn a lot from the replica props community, and replica props could find fresh air and fun doing anime props and costumes! Come on, share the love! We're all geeks!
