About Me / Q&A

What got you into cosplay?
I'd been watching anime for a few years already and decided I wanted to see what it was like to act out the part of my favorite characters and dress up as them. I've always loved to dress up in costumes, so i guess it wasn't such a hard decision to make.
What was your first costume and why?
I'd been told that I have a strikingly similar personality to Vash the Stampede, and though he wasn't my first attempt at cosplay he was my first really well done costume. I feel very confident in my ability to pull off the Vash personality, and I have tons of fun doing so.
What is your favorite costume and why?
Jack Skellington has been my favorite for years, he's just a very lovable and easy to spot character, and I have a lot of fun on stilts.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
plenty xD generally though if there's a costume I wanna make I put it on my to do list and if I ever get around to it then I make it, regardless of difficulty (I'm always up for a good challenge ;])
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
There really are far too many to list :)
Do you participate in masquerades?
Yes! And I occasionally judge them as well.
Have you won any awards for your costumes?

Tell us a little about yourself
I am a graduate of John Brown University with a B.S. in Illustration. I am married to Malinda Meredith Mathis (known by many as Malindachan) and we are currently just taking life one step at a time (or perhaps one con at a time, lol)
My favorite anime
Trigun (of course), Most of the Mobile Suit Gundam anime, as well as lots of other mech anime too. After that the list pretty much goes a long ways down, just ask me if I've seen such and such anime and I'd probably have liked it if I've watched the whole thing through.
My favorite game(s)
Kingdom Hearts (both), Fable (short but awesome), Halo, DDR, Mario (old school ftw), Pokemon, list goes on...
My favorite book(s)
The Bible, the LotR series, the Chronicles of Narnia, the Harry Potter series, the Halo novel series, the recent Transformer novel series, Eragon and Eldest, The Temeraire series, and lots of various manga of course. I actually like the Trigun and Trigun Maximum manga a bunch more than I do the anime...
My favorite character(s)
Vash, Jack Skellington, the Master Cheif and Arbiter from Halo
My favorite movies(s)
gosh...too many to name...though my most recent favorite would have to be the Transformers movie, it totally rocked my socks off! Now I gotta go get some more socks...
