What got you into cosplay?
The prospect of getting to be someone else for an entire weekend appeals very much to me. Also, the idea of meeting the voices behind my favorite characters is also a plus.
What was your first costume and why?
Inuyasha's Kagome. Inuyasha was my first anime fandom, and I just respect Kagome as a character. She's strong but still compassionate, something I hope to see in myself and in others.
What is your favorite costume and why?
Samurai Champloo's Fuu. What can I say, she's just too cute. That and I've been told by many of my friends that I resemble her.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
So far, my future costume list includes Last Exile's Lavie, Risa/Riku of DNAngel, Hellsing's Seras Victoria, and Rukia from Bleach. Basically, anything cute and girly appeals to me.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Too many to count. Despite the fact that cosplay competitions usually take from 3 to 4 hours, it's still very fun just to get your 30 seconds of fame, even if you don't win anything.
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
Not yet, but a couple of friends and I hope to make an award-worthy Samurai Champloo group.
Tell us a little about yourself
Contrary to popular belief, I'm a college freshman. Only at cons do people think I'm older than I really am, since everywhere else people think I'm 14.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
I'm learning Japanese, and so far I can read hiragana, katakana, and a handful of kanji. My username, Roora-san (the Japanese pronunciation of Laura, my real name), is what my sensei calls me.
My favorite anime
Samurai Champloo (duh), Cowboy Bebop, Last Exile, Wolf's Rain, Inuyasha, and a few others. I have only seen/heard of a relatively small number of anime titles, since I do not download anime and have no idea how bittorrent works.
My favorite game(s)
I have to admit, the Pokemon games for my good ol' Game Boy Color get me every time. As you can probably tell from this, I'm not much of a gamer.

Also too many to count.

Pretty much the protagonists of my favorite anime. Which is a lot of characters.
