What got you into cosplay?
I am a costume designer and love to recreate comic, movie or come up with a completely unique costume idea of my own.
I love attending the San Diego Comic Con International, as well as others, Anime Expo, Wonder Con and Anime Vegas. My very 1st time I attended was back in 1998. I went by myself dressed as Iris Shaw (by James O' Barr The Crow female version) and I had the time of my life! Through the years, I have met so many other cosplayers just like me that put their passion and heart into their costumes. I have had the time of my life cosplaying and making my own costumes.
What was your first costume and why?
Well, I have designed and made SO many costumes, I would really have to say one of my 1st big projects was Juliet's angel masquerade ball costumefrom Romeo and Juliet, the one starring DiCaprio. I made her white dress and wings, for the 1st time. I sewed a floor length dress by hand, I had no sewing machine at the time.
Another 1st around high school time was my Harley Quinn costume. I have made two Harley costumes. I love Harley and The Joker from Batman the Animated series 1992.
What is your favorite costume and why?
My favorite???? hmmmm I guess I would have to say my latex costumes... Catwoman, Schell, Silk Spectre II and Quorra, TRON costumes because I worked very hard on them and working with latex ain't easy. I absoultely loved the the results.
Although, all of my intense costume work has been a great deal to take on and very time consuming. Nothing is ever hard or complicated for me to make, I can always figure it out, they are all just time consuming when you have no time to work on them.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
I think I have made them all but the list keeps growing!
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
wearing my costumes at the conventions. Ppl just can't believe the work I put into my creations. Through these many years of doing this, I am very proud of my accomplishments!
Do you participate in masquerades?
I have done a few smaller comic book conventions costume contests but overall, not really, too on the spot camera shy, I don't like standing in front of a huge audience, but I do well with just snap shots and love it. ;)
I have been asked to participate in the SDCC Masquerade but way too nervous to stand on stage with 8000 + ppl watching my every move ;)
What was your best masquerade experience?
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
Yeah, an adult toy for my Catwoman costume one Halloween in New Orleans HAHA that was halirous!
Won the Dragon Con After Dark Costume Contest 2009 1st place in my Silk Spectre II costume as well as Best in Show at the 1st Wizard World held in Anaheim, CA 2010.
I have won various online costume contests with my Quorra-TRON Legacy and Silk Spectre II costumes.
Tell us a little about yourself
I work for a living in the TV industry. It is my dream to be a full time costume/fashion designer one day. Unfortunately, gotta pay the bills and this is just not enough at the moment to get me by but, I am always latex crafting and sewing practically everyday making something new. I am also a latex, corset and light up illuminated clothing designer.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
