What got you into cosplay?
In the 10th grade, my friend took me to AFO and I seeing the costumes made me fall in love with cosplay.
What was your first costume and why?
My first costume was the Video Announcer girl from Battle Royale. I chose it because I had just seen the movie and I needed an idea of what to do for AFO (it was two weeks away). I didn't want to do one of the students because I wasn't sure if anyone would know who I was, so I picked the Video Announcer Girl (plus, she had the best lines: "Here's a SUPER lucky weapon!")
What is your favorite costume and why?
This is such a hard question. I love my costumes for different reasons. From a technical standpoint, I love Rozalin, Leblanc, and Joan Kartwright the most because they really pushed me out of my comfort zone. From a character standpoint, definitely Mai from Mai Hime. She's one of my favorite characters ever, so it was a delight to get to dress up as her.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Hmmm, I'm pretty mellow, so I just sort of jump on a design and that's that, but I'd love to tackle something that had huge props or armor. Right now I'd love to make something from Berserk or Galaxy Fraulein Yuna. And I'm not going to lie, I want to make that huge frog costume Mikuru wears.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Definitely winning Best in Show at Mega Con 2006. I was so surprised and almost started crying because it was the first award I had ever won. xD
I also recently had a moment where someone approached me at AX and told me how much they loved my costumes and how they got into sewing because of that. It made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
Do you participate in masquerades?
Absolutely! It's so much fun when you have a group to cosplay with. Being a member of Coconut Bubble Sex Cosplay is what really got me into masquerades.
What was your best masquerade experience?
Oh, this is a toughie. I have a huge fondness for CBS's FF-X2 skit, as I got to be Leblanc and it was my first performance with them (and the first time we won an award!). Then again, our Princess Tutu skit was so polished and fun and I remember our sheer joy and surprise at winning Best in Show: Performance, that I might have to put that in there too.

Yep! Best in Show at Mega Con 06-Joan, Best Group Presentation Runner-up at AX 2006 - Leblanc, Best in Show Performance at Acen 2007 - Rue, Judge's Award at AB 06- Tomoyo, Best Group Presentation at AX 07 - Hyatt, Best Group at Anime South 07 - Mikako, Best Choreography at Anime Boston 08 - Urd, and Judge's Award at AX 2008 - Roberta.
Tell us a little about yourself
I'm a soon-to-be senior at the University of Florida, training to be a Psychologist. And yes, that does mean I can see what you're thinking. Right now.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
I read too much. I cosplay too much. I am constantly forgetting to take out the trash. I think asparagus is divine, and Freud makes me giggle (It's a far more productive response than wasting your life away wishing you could kick a dead man in the shins).

I love all the FF games, Chrono Cross, Sword of Mana, and Kingdom Hearts. I also adore all of the Jak and Daxter games.

Mai from Mai Hime! She's my girl. You could also say I have a fondness for Rose Tyler.

Again, too many to list. Right now I'm in love with Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and a bunch of Independent films that no one's ever heard of. Oh and Treasure Planet!
