What got you into cosplay?
I love costumes since I was a child! Since I'm an anime / game fan, I think cosplay is the ideal reason for wearing them now. I can have fun, take photos and make friends.
What was your first costume and why?
I should say Marle, from Chrono Trigger, but I never wore that costume at a con until recently, so... my answer is Skuld, from Ah! Megami-sama OVA. I was desperate to choose a character, and someone said I looked like her. Since I love brat-like characters, I choose her.
What is your favorite costume and why?
Ruki (Digimon Tamers): Comfortable, fits me well, fun to act like her for photos and masquerades, cool character.
Hinata (Naruto): Fits me well, well-accepted at cons, loved character.
Aika (Skies of Arcadia): Beautiful, full of details, well-accepted, character I love., dream coming true after four years.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
I'm not used to dream too high, because skills are somewhat limited. But I would love to make a Princess Peach (Super Mario) costume. Aika was one of my dream costumes, too, and now it's real! *_*
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
December, 2002: a 4-year-old cute girl recognized me as Ruki, and asked me where was Renamon. CUTE! =^_^=
November, 2007: my Aika cosplay granted me THREE prizes at a con... and I was like O_O
Do you participate in masquerades?
Yes, most of them, even if there's no chance of winning. Acting like the character on the stage is always lots of fun!
What was your best masquerade experience?
As Ruki: I said (like the character does during the anime) that everyone who called "me" Ruki-chan would get their ****s kicked. I left the stage with a chorus of "Ruki-chan! Ruki-chan!" XD
As Aika: I used the Windows startup sound as a joke during the masquerade, and the public said something like "duh". Now, every time Windows starts, I say "duh", too... XD
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
Some first to third places at small cons, and third to fifth places at medium cons.
Tell us a little about yourself
I'm a happy, kind and sometimes childish girl, who likes anime, videogames, cosplay and general fandom (fics, art, comics, sculpture, etc.). I'm a single child, and I still live with my parents (there's no reason for shame here, really).
I'm an Architect and Urbanist. I graduated by the end of May, 2007. I was approved for a job, and I'm currently waiting for them to call me! ^_^"
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
Please don't look down on cosplayers who don't know how to sew. Remember they still make a lot of props all by themselves, and they still participate in the whole sewing process by choosing fabrics, giving hints, etc. It's not like cosplay is only about MAKING the outfit, and all alone nonetheless.
