What got you into cosplay?
I've always admired good cosplayers and wanted to do it myself, but I can't sew well and I didn't have anyone to go to a con with, anyway. I know CloakedSchemer from school and she dragged me in a few costumes to my first con, KatsuCon 2007.
I am trying to keep it from becoming TOO much of a habit, but I'm failing. Like I need more things to distract me from schoolwork.
What was your first costume and why?
Sohryu Asuka Langley. I actually appeared in a couple before her, but she was the first one I planned and then did, so I count her as my first.
What is your favorite costume and why?
Eureka! I adore her so much and it's an honor to cosplay her. The ep 50 version is my favorite of her forms and heck, I wish i could wear it every day.
Asuka is also a favorite, because I love the shoes and having red hair... And having an excuse to be mean. ;D
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Ep 50 Eureka was my dream costume, and I made it. Now I'm not sure. There's lots I want to do, but no real "holy grail" of cosplays.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Crispin Freeman and Patrick Seitz coming to our Eureka seveN shoot at Anime Punch!!! Patrick was so into hanging out with us and Crispin lapsed so perfectly into Holland's character for photos. It was amazing.
Tell us a little about yourself
I'm a fifth year Spanish Translation student who collects My Little Ponies, watches not enough anime, and loves to draw (anime) and dabbles in photography.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
I SUCK AT SEWING. My friends help me get my costumes together, but I do have a hand in it, and I make most of my own props/accessories as well. Our sewing machine is older than I am and won't even do a simple straight stitch without jamming, so I can't even take the time to practice. I fully intend on making my costumes on my own someday, but for now, I always need help. D:
