What got you into cosplay?
Mm... When I attended my first Sac Con in the Sunrise Mall, I saw people cosplaying...
I got roped in and I think my first costume was Kanako Urashima, from Love Hina. [I forget tho.]
I didn't know how to sew, but my grandma did.
I bought a SeeD uniform on ebay to cosplay as Squall for Fanime 2006... That was my first time at Fanime, and I was impressed by all the cosplayers and the fact that they all made their costumes.
For 2007 I was compelled to make my own costumes for Fanime. I took a clothing design class in High School that year, and then made my Midna and Link costume for myself and my boyfriend.
What was your first costume and why?
Kanako Urashima, I think.
I really like Love Hina. It's the first manga I REALLY got into and collected the entire series of. I mean, I loved Sailor Moon and Pokemon and Digimon, but I never read/watched the manga/anime avidly. Cept maybe Pokemon... But back then, I didn't wanna be Misty and didn't think I could pull off any of the gym leaders I liked. [like Sabrina.]
Kanako's costume was simple, and I could style my hair like hers. I have rebuilt her a little since then.
I wouldn't say she's a "big deal" cosplay tho. I like the costume, but it was a "convenient choice" cosplay at the time.
What is your favorite costume and why?
Hm. I loved the attention I got as Midna at Fanime 2007.
But it's uncomfortable to wear.
At the moment, I think I like my Mia Fey costume the best. It was a last minute costume, and I only altered already owned clothing items...
But I got a compliment that I was the best Mia Fey ever, and I was really happy. :] All my pictures of her turned out REALLY well, which doesn't usually happen for me.
Plus I love her character in Phoenix Wright.
Someday I will remake her entire costume myself from scratch.
Until then, she is my fave cause she's comfortable and aesthetic.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Hm. I want to make a really good set of Link costumes.
I can't wait to make Sesshomaru for my bf.
And Samus Aran.
But I'd also love to make Sephiroth, Kuja, Yue, and Dante.
I would also love to make some mascot costumes; like.. a moomba. :3
I have a huge list though.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Hmmm~
Probably Fanime 2007 so far, when I cosplayed as Midna. Our skit was really fun.

I also just love photoshoots with groups. I'm not very photogenic, but it's fun to think up photoshoot ideas.
The Phoenix Wright group was fun.
The Moogle/Quistis cosplay was great too.
I'm sure I'll have many more memorable and fun experiences in the future to add.
Do you participate in masquerades?
Yes I do. I love competing even though I don't always win or always get recognition.
When I DO get those awards, I'm always really proud.
What was your best masquerade experience?
Fanime 2007 so far. Didn't win anything as Midna and Link, but the skit was great fun. Retrospectively I was pretty miserable that masquerade tho cause my costume was so uncomfortable.
So even though it wasn't a huge performance or most favorable costume, I liked Sac Anime January 2008 masq. I wore 4 different costumes that con [first time I've been in so many costumes at one con], and I entered the contest with a friend's moogle costume; I was Quistis Trepe.
I won something above Honorable Mention for the first time that con; and that was very exciting.

Tell us a little about yourself
I am currently a student at Folsom Lake Junior College. I graduated Folsom High early. I drive a 2000 Toyota Corolla now that I plan to use as my wardrobe and storage unit and mode of transportation to cons. ^_^
I have a wonderful boyfriend named Hayden. He is the biggest source of support in my life, and he loves me more than anyone else ever has, and I love him more than anyone else I've loved as well. He is a great model and cosplay buddy for me. He looks good in almost anything. :[ I'm currently trying to get him to crossplay. XD
My friends are great. I have buddies who make cosplays with me and we dedicate days to it. It's really fun. Some are spontaneous, most are mature, most are silly, most are geeky, and all are well loved.
I work at Target currently as a cashier. But I'm trained all over the store. I also do some commission artwork... I aim to be a game designer/concept artist/game animator.
My other hobbies include video gaming, vegging out, roleplaying, drawing [haeryun.deviantart.com], taiko drumming, and a whole buncha other stuff.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
Uhm. I have globophobia [ph33r of balloons. .....] I hate papercuts, being shocked by static or whateverelse. Uh. Yeah...

OH!
And also, the reason I almost never put "100% Complete" on a costume, is because I only want to put 100% complete if I made everything, or nearly everything, from scratch and if it's COMPLETELY done and satisfactory. Otherwise I will still want to make edits or make a part of it from scratch. The percentages don't mean much more than that.
