What got you into cosplay?
Honestly, I lived a rather sheltered life and had no idea what anime was until my friends dragged me into it. It was one of those random spur of the moment: 'you're coming or we'll maim you' sort of thing, but now I wouldn't trade cosplaying for the world.
What was your first costume and why?
First costume was Link from the Legend of Zelda at Collosalcon '05 or '06. (I can't remember which year exactly because I missed a few cons in a row). I made my own costume, sword and shield too. best prop out of cardboard and duct tape I ever made. xP
What is your favorite costume and why?
Right now, Taokaka from BlazBlue. I've been improving that costume for the last three years now, and just looking through pictures, its about one of the only physical testament I have to how much I've grown as a cosplayer. To me, she's proof that I can never stop trying, pushing myself to be better, and sharpening my skills.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Honestly, I stopped going to conventions for the sake of fandom in 2009 - 2010. I go to meet new people. You'll never know what awesome people you'll meet, and I have met and made so many good friends just through Cosplay.
Can't write them all down, but when it comes to having met my cosplay friends, I am seriously blessed.
Do you participate in masquerades?
Yes, but it depends on the con really, or how much detail I want to put into a costume
What was your best masquerade experience?
My friends and I had a pretty good stage Masq. moment...
16 of us managed to pull together the full Organization XIII at Collosalcon of 2007, as well as a Ansem the Wise, Namine, and a Cid Highwind.
xD we were given the nickname 'the Organization of DOOM... plus Cid Highwind' on our walk on. the judges couldn't give us a prize though for our shear numbers, but they were impressed that we managed to drag everyone. the cry from the screaming fan girls was an award enough. x3
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
Hallway award for Hiccup from How to Train Your Dragon at Colossalcon 9.5
Also, our Nier Gestalt won a Judge's Honorable mention at Ohaoyocon 2012. I was Emil, which was my first mascot costume, ever.
Tell us a little about yourself
I'm a poor college student, who has rather that of a blaze' life just like any norm of a teenager who bums around on the internet. Cosplaying, drawing, RPing, and playing video games are the best thing i do in life. i also do a tad bit of singing, and acting *shrugs*
I also take commissions for cosplay weapons now that I'm actually getting rather good at them.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
Never stop pushing your own limits. You'll be seriously surprised what you can achieve
