What got you into cosplay?
My aunt has always enjoyed making costumes for me as a child for Halloween. As I grew older and Halloween became less of an option (we moved to a less friendly neighborhood), I discovered anime conventions. I love parading around in costume, so this seemed the perfect outlet for me. I've been cosplaying for as long as I've been going to anime conventions.
What was your first costume and why?
MY first costume was Inuyasha!! Back in 2005, Inuyasha was pretty much my favorite anime of all time--that was back before I discovered Naruto. I had the costume already made because my aunt and I worked on it for Halloween earlier that year, so it was easy to decide on last minute. It was such a comfortable outfit! Although not so much with Kagomes yelling "Sit!!" at me all day....
What is your favorite costume and why?
Hmm... I think my Aeris costume is my favorite so far. It was the most accurate, I think, of my costumes. And I was the most popular while wearing it! I made a lot of friends while cosplaying as Aeris as well!!
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Hm... Well, I go through phases. My dream costume for a long time was Songstress Yuna from FFX-2, and I cosplayed as her for Sakura-con 2006. But as for a costume I don't have.... I don't know. I'd like to try something that takes a lot of time and effort and turns out really well. Something that is popular enough so that I am easily recognized, but something that's not so popular so that everyone else is cosplaying the same thing... ^^ Maybe my next cosplay will be Yuki Cross from Vampire Knight~! Ooh, or Organization XIII-style Roxas~! With Oathkeeper, of course. ^__^
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Well, I can remember my first big-time photo shoot during the 2006 Sakura-con. As Songstress Yuna, I found a Tidus, Thief Rikku, FFX Rikku, Barret, and Sephiroth all having their pictures taken. They pulled me into the group and all of a sudden there was a wave of people and so many flashes I thought I was going blind. I think that was the most exhilerating experience. Sakura-Con '07 has a ton of wonder memories now, too. ^__^
Tell us a little about yourself
Well, I am an all-out anime-otaku, I'll watch anything anime-related at least once, even though there are some anime shows out there that I can't sit through. I love to draw and I have my own characters for all my favorite shows. I also write stories and I'm thinking about starting to write a manga in my spare time. ^__^ I love anime conventions!!
