What got you into cosplay?
The ability to be someone else. Cosplay brings to me the family I could otherwise never have. There are so many talented and interesting people out there. I'm just happy to know I'm not the only who didn't get bored of playing "dress-up".
What was your first costume and why?
It's hard to say what my first real outfit was. I want to say Arashi from X/1999 because I made the entire costume without "thrifting" any of it. But I had also cosplayed as the Jupiter Sailor Senshi way back when with my sister as Usagi. Oh the memories...
not to mention that one outfit i made... James from Teamrocket!? wha!?
What is your favorite costume and why?
So far, the obvious answer to that is my newest Axel revision. It's ridiculous to wear due to the boots, but the opportunity is delicious. My Roxas and I have been doing a sort of casual cosplay where we dress up with our wigs and normal boy clothes on. It's very funny to see, but also a lot of fun.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Currently my dream costume is Kain from the Trinity Blood Artbook collection. I have a bad fascination with detail oriented cosplay and of course... wings. I'm assuming you know nothing about me, so I'll sum it up. Wings... if they are on me, they are mechanical and realistic. yum.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Again, Axel. Since he is my first "true" cosplay. When I say "true" I mean that I took it very seriously, to the point of obsession. But I suppose that's an understatement at this point.
Do you participate in masquerades?
Well my first experience with masquerades was a walk on at Otakon 2007. First time in my life, it was surreal and I was merely walking! But DGLR made it great fun since we schemed behind stage to do a mini-skit as our quick walk on.
What was your best masquerade experience?
As of now, NewYorkAnimeFestival2007! It was my first masquerade skit ever. I didn't realize until too late that I have stage fright and I found myself looking at yesterday's dinner before I went on stage. But it was well worth it!
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
Otakon 2007 Judges' Award - Axel: Kingdom Hearts 2
Zenkaikon 2007 Journeyman Cosplay First Place - Axel variant 2 with best Roxas ever. Look for Suuchan !
New York Anime Festival 2007 - Journeyman 1st place

>for Axel variant 2 with Roxas (suuchan) for our skit
