What got you into cosplay?
After going to Sakura Con 2003 changed everything for me and got me excited to make my own costume for the next con. I think seeing how social everyone was to cosplayers and not social to non cosplayers i.e. myself gave me a lot of drive to attempt something cool that would stand out.
What was your first costume and why?
My first costume was Astaroth's two player horned costume from Soul Calibur 2. The reasons why I chose it was at the time I was in a lot of SC2 tourneys...and winning by the way :). The other reason was that I had just started bodybuilding and though I was physically much smaller when I first wore the costume I thought I had the ability to pull it off.
What is your favorite costume and why?
My favorite costume has to be Armstrong from FMA. I think Armstrong fits my personality and since I am also a bodybuilder I thought I could be the first cosplayer to really try to pull off his physique. I will continue to grow into this character until I think I have finally made the look just right :).
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
All of my costumes are more physical as in showing muscle more than material. I do not really have a dream costume as much as I do have a dream that I am as large as the characters I play in real life. That dream is getting closer as time goes on and I think after I compete in August in my first show I will be that I almost achieve my goal.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Almost causing a car crash in downtown Seattle since people were watching me walking down the street as Astaroth instead of paying attention to where they were driving =).
Do you participate in masquerades?
Yes, at Otakon 08 our DBZ group one Best Journeyman Skit for "A Saiyan Tale".
What was your best masquerade experience?
"A Saiyan Tale" has been my only skit so far and it was a blast!!! XD
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
People have asked me to participate in costume contests, but never have time at the cons since everyone wants pics all the time =).
Tell us a little about yourself
I work out 2 - 3 times a day 7 days week to train for my first bodybuilding show. I also like to play video games, draw, and watch anime of course =).
My favorite anime
Dragonball and DBZ, Naruto, Bleach, FMA, Death Note and Inuyasha.
My favorite game(s)
Soul Calibur series, Tekken Series, Guilty Gears series, and Guitar Heroes 1 and 2.
My favorite character(s)
Astaroth, Potemkin, Nappa and Major Armstrong.
