What got you into cosplay?
I had been creating my own Halloween costumes for a while and when I found out about cosplaying at cons(I was in 7th-grade I think, so around 2000/2001) I really wanted to make something for a con. So in early 2007, when I was offered the chance to go to Acen with a group of friends, you better believe that I jumped at the opportunity. :3
What was your first costume and why?
Halloween wise: Ax from Animorphs(it was...interesting lol) Con-wise: Kyo's AATD "Prince" outfit. It was actually a winter project and I wanted it just for the vk tailcoat...but then I got the chance to go to Acen and I ended up making the whole outfit. :3
What is your favorite costume and why?
My -Terrors- era Hizumi costume. Even with the few inaccuracies, it looks awesome. And as modest as I tend to be, I feel comfortable in it and I feel like I look good in it.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
I have a few. 1) Yuuki's(UnsraW) -9- PV outfit. 2) Hizumi's(D'espairsRay) zy[zi:] 16 outfit
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
It will always be Acen 07. I will NEVER forget my first con ever (and how can I forget it when even getting to and from Chicago was insane? lol) Second will be peoples reactions to me and Kai's contact lenses at Saboten. There were several people who approached us just for pix of our eyes. Third, the infamous despa adventures involving me and two other d'espairsray cosplayers at saboten 09.
Do you participate in masquerades?
Not yet. I hope to when I get over my ridiculous stage-fright.
Tell us a little about yourself
I'm attending online college. I'm the oldest of three daughters in my family. I'm the creative child. I do everything from drawing, sculpting, painting, etc. The youngest is kinda taking after me though. :3 My main hobby is the artsy stuff but I also spend a lot of time at the computer...XD As a job, I teach the son of one of my neighbors hour-long art lessons a few days a week. It's pretty fun.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
I like being scary. A dream job of mine would be working at a haunted house. XDD My love of being creepy is often reflected by my costume choices.... :P Oh and apparently there's a Russian cosplay community that wants me dead. :D
