What got you into cosplay?
My friends and a super love for Sailormoon at the time. I also thought it'd be interesting to try out, and little did I know how much fun it was!
What was your first costume and why?
Super Sailormoon, because I was into Sailormoon quite a bit (it was the first anime I'd ever gotten into) and I thought it'd be fun. I could also relate a bit to Usagi so I thought she'd be perfect for me to start out with. The uniform is also very pretty X3
What is your favorite costume and why?
Not sure at this point. There's a lot I'd love to try and cosplay, but so far the one I like the most so far is my Rinoa Heartilly cosplay because I'm striving for accuracy and not just using random things around the house to put it together. I actually have to sew for this one, and it even involved bleaching and dying the duster and armwarmers! It's a fun experience.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Oh gosh. Almost anything from Final Fantasy X and beyond is beautiful (I heard someone once say it was a cosplay girl's heaven lol) and would be super cool to make. I've been wanting to make Aya's (from Ayashi no Ceres) uniform and cosplay as Ceres, but I have no idea when that'll happen. A few friends of mine also want to do a Beatmania IIDX group cosplay, which should be a ton of fun. Not sure about anything else at this point.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
My friend Taylor coming out to NDK7 and doing a cosplay couple as Miaka and Tamahome from Fushigi Yuugi. It was really cute, but since I was Miaka from 2nd OAV, hardly anyone recognized me lol
And recently Ani-Magic 2004, where some members of the FFVIII group and I roamed around Valencia finding places to take in-game type pictures. It was crazy!
Do you participate in masquerades?
After some random events, yes, I do lol
What was your best masquerade experience?
At Mikomicon 2006, since it was really small and all in good fun. Larger cons are kind of scary, since they're all serious business.
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
I got a pin at the first NDK I ever went to cause one of the staff loved my costume.. does that count? ^^;;
Tell us a little about yourself
I'm currently attending CalArts as an animation student. I love my family and our two kitties <3
I like to play video games, hang out with friends, do karaoke, draw, animate, but I wish I had more time and money to make costumes for more cosplay. I am a poor art student!
Currently, I'm striving to finish my student film, and be better at beatmaniaIIDX!
