What got you into cosplay?
I was into anime a long while before I started to cosplay. Once I move to Florida I heard there were conventions here, which I was really looking forward to since I moved from a small town with no anime community. I decided that if I was going to a con I was going to cosplay and I'm still going strong.
What was your first costume and why?
My first costume was Paine from FFX-2, a bit of an ambitious costume at that! I really connected to to her character and her outfit was just amazing. I'm planning on doing Paine alot, warrior, pixie, and other dresspheres. She just kicks so much booty.
What is your favorite costume and why?
My favorite costume thus far has been Mew Ichigo from Tokyo Mew Mew, I just felt so pretty wearing all that pink! The character is also really popular so I got stopped by tons of people for pictures which made me feel like some sort of celebrity. I had so much fun with the ears and tail too.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
I really want to make Rei's plugsuit with an actual dummy plug made out of huge pvc pipe...yeah that would rock.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
At Kunicon '04 I was cosplaying as Paine a mom stopped me and said "child, you look so good they shoulda let you in for free!"
Do you participate in masquerades?
not yet, but I'm really looking forward to trying some different groups and things later when I can coordinate with fellow cosplayers.
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
I've won alot of awards and I'm really proud of myself for learning how to sew and make props. It's so rewarding to win for something that I made with my own hands.
My mom says "you're a nerd but at least your an award-winning nerd."
Tell us a little about yourself
I go to NSU and I'm studying psychology. I also work at the university so they pretty much rule my life! I want to become a clinical psychologist and I have a long way to go.
I have a boyfriend, my partner in crime, who cheers me on and carries my props when they get too heavy. He's the bestest. I'm trying to convince him to do more couple costumes with me ^^
Other than cosplay I do the other geeky things: watch anime, play video games, etc. I don't like many outside things, I don't like nature in between my toes.
