What got you into cosplay?
I've always liked dressing up. I figure anime conventions are a great place to do it; where else can you walk around all day with hair colors not found in nature and a getup that would get you institutionalized worn elsewhere and be accepted and even praised for doing it? ^.^
What was your first costume and why?
My first costume wasn't even anime *shock* A friend teamed up with me so that we could cosplay Kethry and Tarma from Mercedes Lackey's Oath trilogy (read it if you haven't).
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Someday I dream of doing a Sailormoon cosplay, either one of the Senshi or one of the princess dresses from the manga. My problem is that Sailor Moon is my all-time favorite anime and manga, and I refuse to do a cosplay unless I can get it 100% accurate (including hair and eyes). To do anything less would demean my precious Sailor Moon!
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Walking around at A-FEST 2007 in the giant hoop skirt as Utena was certainly memorable. I had to relearn how to walk, sit, turn, and worm my way through the dealer's room while being two feet wider in all directions. It did ensure personal space on the elevator, though.
