What got you into cosplay?
I needed to be more involved attending cons. Watching videos and going to the dealers room were too little to do. And taking cosplay pics added a little bit more involvement. Since I started cosplaying in 2004, I met new people, participated in gatherings, and saved me from quitting anime.
What was your first costume and why?
Edward Elric from Full Metal Alchemist. I watched 17 episodes of FMA at Fanime Con 2004 Midnight Madness from midnight to 7am. After I watched about 9 episodes and Edward kicking butt, I said to myself, "I'm going to cosplay Edward." FMA is my all time favorite anime series and cosplaying Edward saved me from quitting anime.
What is your favorite costume and why?
The answer is either Edward or Toshiro Histugaya from Bleach. Many people recognize me as Edward. Toshiro is the most popular Shinigami arguably. I have received more attention and glomps cosplaying as Toshiro in the 2007 con season compared to Edward in 2004-2006. And my Toshiro cosplay is much cooler than Edward which has three layers of clothing.
*Sigh* My answer is Edward because he was my first cosplay. Edward gave me good memories during the 2004-2006 cons. However, Bleach is gaining more popularity and Toshiro is getting more popular. Maybe at the end of 2007, I change my answer ;-)
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
None at the moment.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Anime Expo 2006. There was a mini FMA gathering after the Vic Mignogna panel. Turnout was excellent for an on the fly gathering. After the group shots and actions shots were completed, the craziness began including Yaoi pics. A female cosplaying as Kimbly and I did a Yaoi shot. After the gathering, her friends and I hung out for the rest of the day.
Tell us a little about yourself
My current job is I'm a contractor for Cisco. I graduated from San Jose State University with a BS in Economics. My other hobbies are Reading Comic Strips, Working Out at the Gym, Listening to CDs, Playing Video Games, Reading Investment Books, Reading Business Books, Cooking, and Learning Technology. My number one value is always meet new people. When I'm at cons, I always seek to meet new people. I live the present, act and behave modesty, hang out with family and friends, work smarter, and take life one event at a time.
