About Me / Q&A

What got you into cosplay?
I've always enjoyed theatre and costuming. When I went to my first convention, combining that love with anime seemed only right.
What was your first costume and why?
My first costume Lina Inverse at A-kon 2002. She's one of my favorite anime characters and I had the red hair to pull it off.
What is your favorite costume and why?
Bankotsu from InuYasha. My mom and I made it in about 2-3 weeks from scratch and I still love how it turned out. Plus, he's one of my all time favorite manga characters.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Oh several. Right now it'd probably be several more Hetalia costumes.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Winning "Best in Show" at NekoCon 2003 with our InuYasha "The Quest for the Biggest Sword" skit. Also, AnimeFest 2009- which was just an amazing show overall and we won a Judge's Award for our skit.
Do you participate in masquerades?
Almost always, as part of our group- "Kenshin's Pants Productions."
What was your best masquerade experience?
The Best in Show skit at NekoCon 2003 and our Judge's Award at AnimeFest 2009.
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
[NekoCon 2003] Best in Show (both for craftsmanship and the skit) for "The Quest for the Biggest Sword" skit. I was Bankotsu in it. [Naka-Kon 2005] First Place Overall (at their costume contest) for my Jakotsu costume. [Naka-Kon 2006] Best Cosplay Skit for our skit, "Let the Games Begin" with my Edward Elric costume. [Naka-Kon 2007] Audience Favorite Skit for our skit, "Save the Schoolgirl, Save the World" with my Monkey D. Luffy costume. [Naka-Kon 2007 ] Hall Cosplay Judge's Award for my Lum costume as part of KPP's Rumic Heroine's group (Lum, Akane and Kagome). [AnimeFest 2009] Judge's Award for our skit, "The Battle of Yorktown 1781" with my Revolutionary War America costume. [Motaku 2009] Best costumed and Best Overall for our skit, "Rated R for Red" with my WWII America costume. [NakaKon 2013] Best Hall Cosplay Sunday, Jack from Mass Effect 3.
