What got you into cosplay?
I loved anime, and decided to indulge my creative side. It all went from there.
What was your first costume and why?
My first -real- costume was Zelgadis from Slayers, at Anime Expo 2000. I wanted the challenge of making something non-human look real, and I was able to turn a bunch of heads with the thick make-up job. But my first-first costume was Piccolo from DBZ, because I was a dork. There will never be photos of that on the internet.
What is your favorite costume and why?
Orochimaru from Naruto, because he's fun to wear, I get to be evil, and apparently I also frighten the hell out of people.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
A few, yeah. We'll find out if I get around to doing them. (Of course, upon the completion of one, another would just take its place >.>)
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Walking around as Orochimaru at Anime LA 2006 and having a hoarde of people surprisingly recognize me from PMX. ("Hey, aren't you that Orochimaru that sang Play That Funky Music White Boy?!?!")
Do you participate in masquerades?
Yeah, since 2000.
What was your best masquerade experience?
The comment a craftsmanship judge made at AX 2000 masquerade, when our Slayers group got the award for Best Novice Craftsmanship: "Anyone crazy enough to wear THAT much crap on their face deserves to win -something-."
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
Yeah, several. The most recent was at PMX 2006. I've also gotten a couple presentation awards.
Tell us a little about yourself
I'm in school. I have hobbies. I'm an anime dork. I love South Park and Mystery Science Theater 3000. I work with metal and fabric. I love video games and am so old school that I know not to look into the death star...or I will die.
