What got you into cosplay?
I really fell in love with the idea back when I first started going to conventions, but it didn't occur to me for a couple years that I could actually cosplay, too. My mom made me a white mage costume, so I wore that to a convention, and it was fun. Then a couple years later, I discovered LazyTown and decided that I had to learn to sew. I've noticed that cons are more fun when you're in costume.
And I've always loved to play dress-up.
What was your first costume and why?
o_o I'm not sure. I wore that white mage costume to Katsucon one year, so that kinda sorta counts. But I didn't make it, so it kinda also doesn't. Stephanie totally should count, but I had bunches of help from my mom for that, because my sewing skills are severely under-leveled.
Oh! I know! The first costume I threw together all by myself was when I was about six, for a costume birthday party of one of my friends. I put on a red turtleneck, a pair of navy snowpants, and a red hat that I can't really describe with a felt 'M' pinned to it, and I went as Mario.
I was thoroughly offended when none of the other little girls knew who Mario was.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
YES. Several. The first is to actually make another costume, period.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Goodness gracious, the reactions I've gotten for Stephanie are incredible. It's mostly the guys and the older mens who ask for pictures and an occasional girl who asks for a hug.
Best memories to date? Katsucon '08, this one cute guy asked for a picture with me, so I posed with him, and then his two other cute friends jumped into the picture. So I was Pimp!Stephanie. And Pool's Closed Epic Fail Guy tried to take a cell phone picture of me.
Do you participate in masquerades?
Nope. But ONE DAY!
Tell us a little about yourself
I just graduated from high school, am a girl scout, can never find time to sew, love writing and procrastinating, and my favorite color is pink. Yay!
My favorite anime
Escaflowne, Digimon Adventure, Chi's Sweet Home, Avatar: The Last Airbender (not an anime, I know, but there isn't a box for tv/cartoons)
