What got you into cosplay?
For a book report in High School my English teacher required all of us to dress up as a character from the book we were reading and give a speech. Once I got up on stage I found myself enjoying playing the person and really got into the act.
What was your first costume and why?
Mary Anna Jackson from the biography "Stonewall".
What is your favorite costume and why?
My favorite would have to be my Revolutionary War costume. The entire thing came together perfectly and looked great.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Goodness, I can think of quite a few costumes. I want to make a Celtic pirate outfit, Eowyn's green gown from LOTR: TTT, Sailor Jupiter's costume, Star Trek costumes, and some others.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
When I was in a school play it was required of me to come running up on stage in my Civil War dress. The folks in charge failed to mention that they had waxed the floors. When I came running up on stage my feet come right out from under me and I go sliding all the way across the stage! I slid all the way across the stage and then burst out laughing when I came to a stop. No harm done, just one very amused cosplayer/actress/person.
Do you participate in masquerades?
Not yet but I hope to soon.
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
Yes, I have.
Tell us a little about yourself
I'm an artist and seamstress by trade. I've been writing on my novel off and on. I'm a total goof-ball at heart. Just ask my friends. ;) I'm shy by nature but I do open up and can become quite talkative. I have a semi-warped sense of humor and am easily amused. I'm the type that'll burst out laughing suddenly over something that happened yesterday. I may be different but I'm extremely loyal to friends and family. If you ever see me don't be shy about coming up to me and starting up a conversation. I don't bite...hard. ;) Just don't get me started on politics, I tend to go on a tirade.
