What got you into cosplay?
Well, I stumbled upon the world of cosplay through anime sites, and after reading about it, I became very interested and really wanted to go to a con. I attended my first convention in 2003 (SugoiCon).
What was your first costume and why?
My first costume was Kyo of Dir en grey's Macabre outfit (album version). I chose that outfit because I liked it a lot, and it looked like something I could actually do (I didn't want anything insane, as before this costume I hadn't even properly used a sewing machine. x_X). It's a really comfortable costume! I like wearing it a lot.
What is your favorite costume and why?
It changes a lot, but currently my favorite is my NOIZ outfit. That outfit is just crazy and so fun to wear. I love it. XD My friends always get a kick out of it because of the CrotchPocket®. XD It's also a lot of fun to go outside of the convention in that costume. God do I get weird looks. XDD
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Anti-Sora from Kingdom Hearts II. I'll never make it, but man that is such an awesome costume, and it would be so fun to wear around. It would have to have glowing eyes, too.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Performing our Death Note skit for OhayoCon7 by far. We had tons of fun with it (we added in a lot of last-minute ideas to make it even more fun). The crowd reaction was so rewarding, we didn't even need an award to make this the best cosplay experience for all of us.
Do you participate in masquerades?
I participated in my first skit at OhayoCon4. It was fun, but I would have enjoyed it more if things had been more prepared and more organized, both on my part and the con's, but I definately will be doing this again. We tried it again for OhayoCon7 and had a MUCH better experience. ^^;;
What was your best masquerade experience?
NEW ONE! My friends and I decided to try the skit thing again for OhayoCon7, this time doing a Death Note skit. We were much more prepared this time, and recording definately helped. But we had so much fun with this, and the crowd LOVED it! We ended up walking away with "Best in Show", and I don't know if we could ever beat THAT masquerade experience, haha. It was amazing. I'll never forget it. (P.S. You can see it on YouTube! Go go go!! XD)
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
Yes (amazingly) - my friend Amy (NytenGale) and I won "Judge's Choice" at Reactor '05 for our Myaku Die and Kaoru outfits! (Amy being Die and me being Kaoru [in my remade dress])
Tell us a little about yourself
I'm in college (Indiana University), studying East Asian languages and culture, but my focus is mostly on Japanese. Aside from cosplay, I love music, and play bass and piano. I'm trying to learn guitar, but so far that's turning out to be a disaster. n_n;
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
I did foreign exchange to Japan from March '04 - January '05. I lived in Wakayama, and then Osaka for a short time. It was friggen awesome. XD

My favorite character(s)
Currently, Fai from Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles hands down! I love everything about Fai. <3 Kurogane (Tsubasa) is also friggen awesome. Next to those two, Spike from Cowboy Bebop is another favorite.
My favorite movies(s)
Lord of the Rings, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Pirates of the Caribbean, Kung-Pow, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
My favorite actors/actresses
Namikawa Daisuke, Miyano Mamoru, and Fukuyama Jun as far as voice actors go. If you consider Hard Gay an actor too, then yes, he is one of my favorites. XD In terms of western actors, Johnny Depp and Jackie Chan please! 8D
