What got you into cosplay?
Well, don't really remember that actually +_+... it all began with one anime-festival here in my home country (Latvia O_o). It was the first one for me, and I just wanted to be a cosplayer, didn't really knew back there what it was REALLY like though. Did just some usual school-girl "cosplay", but when I saw all the other REAL cosplayers, became ashamed of myself and swore to do smth next time that will be of COSPLAY, and not like "I just took some old clothes out of my closet, and YEY I'm a cosplayer now!".... smth like that ^_^
What was your first costume and why?
I don't really count that school-girl "cosplay" as such.. it was like 0, preparations... so the first after that was the Lina Inverse (Slayers, movies version) costume.
Why?...I searched quite a long time for suitable-cosplay-character, and somehow, I got to see a picture of Lina in a magazine, and thought that "why not? we're quite alike, I have hair like this, and costume seems not too complex for the first time (O_o it's like lol now, as I think of that thought)".
What is your favorite costume and why?
Hmmm... that's the question. I didn't do soooo much cosplay up to now =_=... of what I already did, It would be Matsumoto Rangiku (Bleach).
Rangiku is one more character who's really alike me, both visually and in character (yeah, I'm veeeeeeery lazy). It was really fun to make this costume in one room with my friends, who were making their own costumes too, one were from Bleach too - Renji.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
For now, I can't think farther than my upcoming D.Gray-Man cosplay. It will be Allen Walker. I just soooooooo want to do it right +_+.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
48 hour before the convention - we have 0% of our costumes. For the next almost straight 24 hours, we sit in one room and swear to ourselves - to be prepared in at least a week before the animefest next time. (sure, promises are there to be broken ^^;)
Do you participate in masquerades?
Yeah. In Halloween we go out in the streets in costumes, and note that it's NOT usual in my country ).
What was your best masquerade experience?
Ah... I have some beautiful childhood memories...
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
Nope, always near to the organization, so, to not be counted as a cheater, can't get smth like that here.
Tell us a little about yourself
Studying Japanese in the 2nd year of the Latvian University.
Have an older brother, who's an otaku too, but military-otaku >_< Nii-sama, as I call him, after Bleach. The roleplayers are too cosplayers of some kind, so it runs in the family x)..
I Love my mother! She's the best, she is supporting my otaku-cosplay interests, she never said that I'm a kid for watching anime, and a freak for cosplay etc, and it happens so often the other way eith the others T_T... so I'm really happy with her.
Yes, I'm working, and you can guess there..... FOR THE COSLAY! ..man I hate cosplay x_x... oh well v_v... kinda hate my job, but it's not the worst possible.
Hobby? Is cosplay not a hobby? But I have another too... I draw, I read books and I write.
And as the last one - I love my friends ^_____^
