What got you into cosplay?
Well, I'm an actress, so I dress up like characters and mess around all the time anyway... and I figured I might as well do that in the outside world as well, if only for anime conventions, holidays and silly gatherings. Cosplaying just makes you feel so special, because you've gone through the trouble of making -- or in my case, comissioning someone to make the costume. You love the character you're playing, and you feel like they're a part of yourself, so when someone compliments you or asks if they can take your picture, it's like they're praising your efforts as a human being, not only just your efforts as a cosplayer.
Etc., etc., etc. But really. Just a load of glee.
What was your first costume and why?
A Hufflepuff student! Hannah Abbott, unofficially. I love the Hufflepuffs. I'm a badger activist. I think Hufflepuff is the best, most complex, most interesting and most fun house out of any that have been revealed to us, including Beauxbaton and Durmstrang schools. I could talk for hours and hours about my 'Puffs, and I have. I really want to spiff up my costume a bit, grab a wig and cosplay as Nymphadora at some point. I might do that for next year's AX.
What is your favorite costume and why?
Johnny K. Gambino from the gaiaonline.com plotline. Wearing that costume makes me feel so powerful!
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
I'd love to do a really high quality ballroom Belle, but that would probably cost hecka back...
Tell us a little about yourself
I'm currently a senior in high school and have a job with my mother cleaning the three bathrooms and kitchen in our house twice a month for $100, which is awesome. I'm considering working for Starbucks once my first semester is over (since no one cares about your second semester of senior year anyway -- it's just a time to have fun). As I've mentioned previously, I'm a member of the drama department at my school, and I love drama kids with a fervent passion. I am also in choir for the first time in seven years and am basking in the musical glory. I did synchronized swimming for six years, until my freshman year of high school, when our team split up and I didn't want to go swim on any of those snobby other teams. Then I participated in speed swimming at my school for the next two years, after which I quit once more to focus on my acting. I love going downtown on weekends at midday and watching movies. I have three cats, two older brothers, a mother and a father.
