What got you into cosplay?
I like making reproductions of things, rather than buying merchandise. Plus, I work in an industry where people play dress-up and I bemoan the fact that I am always stuck in a tux or black suit. NOTE: I like to consider myself an "open source" cosplayer. Feel free to nick any of my designs, just give credit for the original source and hopefully make something better than what I could manage. :3
What was your first costume and why?
My mother made a matador costume for me in the 2nd grade for a project on whatever culture we hailed from (if you haven't guessed, I'm of Spanish descent). I thought it was so awesome and wore it 'til I grew out of it. My first self-made costume was Perseus in 4th grade, complete with severed Medusa's head.
What is your favorite costume and why?
The Medic from Team Fortress 2. I've learned how to use a lot of new materials, plus the character and game setting are just FUN.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Loads. Most involve authentic techniques, blarg.
Do you participate in masquerades?
Naw.
Tell us a little about yourself
I'm a professional classical musician (oboe/English Horn) who often works in opera and musical theater, so I get to run across a lot of costumers and prop-makers. I'm a regular Smirky McGee in most photos... that's just how I smile. It' either that or the psychotic Pepsodant grin. XD J.S. Bach is my favorite classical composer. For modern stuff, I really dig Tom Waits.

Cats are nice.

If it's steam-punk, fantasy, or weird otherworld type stuff, I'll probably watch it.
My favorite game(s)
I am a career rogue in WoW and a career medic in Team Fortress 2. Sometimes I get them confused. Other PC/Video: Planescape: Torment, Bladur's Gate series, Civ IV, Warcraft/Starcraft, Guitar Hero, Katamari Damacy. Tabletop Games: Arkham Horror, Twilight Imperium, Apples to Apples, D&D (haven't played since 2nd ed.)
My favorite book(s)
I was one of those kids who would spends hours sitting by the bookshelf reading the dictionary or encyclopedia. Aside from Wikipedia, these days, I am really into Discworld.

Auntie Mame, Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, Disney's Beauty & the Beast, Fargo, The Princess Bride, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Die Hard, Clue, Shaun of the Dead
My favorite actors/actresses
Loads of character actors whose names, ironically, escape me at the moment.
