What got you into cosplay?
A friend who got me into anime told me I'd be great at cosplaying, since I was already doing a fashion class and knew how to sew. Now, once I finish one costume, I'm thinking of what to do next. I always loved dressing up so this was a perfect fit for me! Now that I'm into visual kei I don't know if it'll ever stop.
What was your first costume and why?
Krad. I love him. Plus, it seemed do-able in a short amount of time, minus the wings.
What is your favorite costume and why?
So far, my Gama Ruki. I put a lot of care into it and it's the first hat I ever made, and overall I was happy with the results.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
I saw this picture of Mana in a teal outfit and he's wearing a panier and a huge ruff. I would love to figure out how to make those. The costume seems like a lot of work with tons of details. Or anything with wings, because the process seems like a long one.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Overall, getting asked for a lot of pictures. And getting a hug so hard and fast that my hat and wig fell off.
Do you participate in masquerades?
Not yet, I'd like to though.
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
Well, technically I entered a contest at a very small con and won third place for my Krad. I'd like to enter a bigger contest though.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
My name Lost Teflon, is derived from a personal, frustrating experience. In my freshman year of college I lost my teflon foot three times, meaning each time I had to shell out $20 for another one. Now I check my feet about three times before packing up. It's that fun little sewing anecdote that the name comes from.
My favorite anime
Fushigi Yuugi, Escaflowne, DNAngel, Gravitation, Death Note
My favorite book(s)
HARRY POTTER and all the Tortall books by Tamora Pierce. Kite Runner is also an amazing book.
My favorite movies(s)
Shrek, Pirates, The Patriot, The Devil Wears Prada
