What got you into cosplay?
Wanting the feel of Halloween all year round. I've always loved pretending to be other people :) But I guess it really started with the Lord of the Rings movies, Harry Potter, and Phantom of the Opera (the good musical kind- not the crummy movie...). Then from there, I moved to more intricate designs and fashion, which is what I do for a living now.
What was your first costume and why?
My brother's old hand-me-down Ghostbuster jumpsuit. -MAN- that thing was awesome.
What is your favorite costume and why?
I love best whatever it is I'm currently working on. But I have a soft spot for my Ren-Fest dresses.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
I want to recreate every single dress Christine wears in the Phantom of the Opera, as well as everything in Wicked, The Little Mermaid- gah... everything that's too expensive. :) Oh- and Sarah's Bubble Dress from the Labyrinth. And Star Trek uniforms. The list never ends...
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Going to the mall dressed as Belle from Beauty and the Beast with my friend, who was Cinderella, and enjoying all the funny looks and embarrassed hugs from the kids outside the Disney Store.
Do you participate in masquerades?
I would if I lived close enough to any of them.
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
Mostly student awards from High School, when I did costumes for myself and some of the other actors.
Tell us a little about yourself
I am a Trekkie. A Major Trekkie. I don't object to the fanatic term because it's true.
I live in a small house, go to college, drive a Mercury, sing opera in the shower, sing opera outside of the shower, annoy my neighbors, drink four bottles of water a day, and generally just mooch.
Oh. And I make clothes and costumes.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
I have Star Trek Earrings.
My favorite anime
Ghost in the Shell: Standalone Complex
My favorite book(s)
Anything by Terry Pratchett
My favorite character(s)
Spock ^^, Toph Bei Fong, Bumblebee
My favorite movies(s)
Transformers!, all Star Trek movies (except for the one Shatner directed...), the Labyrinth, Beatles films, all Marx Brothers movies.
