About Me / Q&A
What got you into cosplay?
Anime conventions. I started going to conventions in 2004, Otakon was my first. I'd never seen anything like it.
What was your first costume and why?
My first costume was boy type Ranma. I decided to do Ranma because my brother had most of the things I needed for the costume. I got a wig but over all the costume wasn't too great
What is your favorite costume and why?
Ikkaku, I've only cosplayed two people Ranma and Ikkaku. After my over all failure at a ranma costume I decided to dress up as someone I looked like. I was thinking Bleach since I do martial arts and I have most of the stuff already. In 2007 I started shaving my head so I decided to give Ikkaku a try. Every convention I make minor improvements to make it better and even talk to other Ikkaku's to see what worked for them and what didn't work for them.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Ikkaku's bankai...a light version. The big prop alone is a handful much even worse when the parts weigh close to 10 pounds each.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Probably doing the bankai for Otakon 09. I'd always joked about a 5 step costume...where you get stopped for photos every 5 steps; but I had no idea how true that was. I must have had 20 pictures taken before I got into the convention center. When I got to the photoshoot early I had wave after wave of super happy people taking pictures. That's why I cosplay, I like it and other people like it.
Do you participate in masquerades?
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
Again, not yet.
Tell us a little about yourself
Going back to school soon, I'm a computer guy, single living alone and looking to keep it that way. I do martial arts, bowling, pool, archery, firearms, writing, anime, manga, cosplay, wood work, and MTG.
My favorite anime
