Why I'll Never Travel Long Distances With Props Ever Again
Thanks American Airlines! The 5 hours of carving, sanding, gessoing, painting, sculpting and putting together meant nothing to me.
Yeah..this is the aftermath of what happened to my harp during my plane ride. The harp was wrapped in a ridiculously thick fleece blanket and wrapped even MORE by the clothes inside the suitcase and this still happened.
It was on my carry on which was deemed "too big" by the airline so I had to "valet check" it and this is what happened.
Luckily it broke in places where seam lines won't be noticed and I should be able to repair it.

I am so scared to do major travelling now... good thing the cons I go to are mostly within driving distance ^^;

I'm glad it worked out and you can't really tell that it broke. I mean, I didn't notice it was broken when I asked about it at Ohayo. But that really sucks that they still broke it even when it was wrapped up.

If I ever make a Din to go with your outfit, I'll let you borrow the Rod of Seasons and you can threaten anyone that dares hurt your harp. lol
Don't feel bad, my umbrella got knocked down a couple of times and I was repairing it in the car on the way to ACEN.

I carted a large crystal decanter from Stratford-upon-Avon through England & France in a carry on--and they wouldn't let you put that somewhere safe?! That sucks so bad! ;-; I'm really sorry!
In any case, it looks awesome--even broken!

UGHHH I know what you mean D: I'vehad so much stuff broken by airlines. It's really sad how they THROW baggage around knowing that people have fragile items inside. Good luck fixing it. At least it hasn't totally shatterd, right?

Thats such a shame. But its really lucky that its in not so noticeable places that can be fixed. ^^
