Beading Ring
Spookloops
This is a contraption I made to work on the gown's beadwork. The material is bridal satin, so I can't use pins to tack it down or to hold my template. Can't use a standard embroidery hoop because of the beadwork and creasing. So I made this - it's a 12" diameter pair of wreath-form rings with magnets hot glued on. It holds the fabric securely along with my template, is more manageable than a beadboard, and has a gap between the rings wide enough to accomodate beadwork that's already done as I move along the fabric. I'm really liking this thing. :) NOTE: if you make one for yourself, I recommend putting a bit of packing tape over the magnets. They like to smudge the fabric a little when they're new.
