Hard Luck Women
Tess
One of my favourites from the beautiful shoot Lionel did with Tasukichan, Katetriss, & myself at Katsucon 2008. Cowboy Bebop is a series that has been near and dear to my heart for what seems like forever, and cosplaying Faye had been something of a pipe-dream for years [since NO ONE needs to see my cupcake butt in yellow vinyl, at least at my current weight] until I revisited "Ballad of Fallen Angels" one night and realized, ALERT ALERT GORGEOUS DESIGN THAT EVERYONE SEEMS TO FORGET ABOUT. I MUST DO THIS. [And for those that need some brushing up, this is the outfit in which Faye heads to the opera in pursuit of a rather heady bounty and afterward proceeds to fuck up and get kidnapped. XD;]

Sadly, I'm only half-pleased with the result. [Funny how things never quite get put into perspective until AFTER you've worn the costume once.] I made some choices with the gown that were pretty stupid, now that I think about it, so I may end up completely remaking it or, at the very least, altering it heavily. [All that pretty rouching that I was so proud of? Yeah, it totally adds about 20 lbs to the tummy area. And that slit right up the front? THIGHS X93849284.] I also am a little sad that Faye's coat is such a shapeless bag, as it really doesn't do much for me. ^__^; But for every aspect of the costume I'm unhappy with, there are about 20 things that I'm pleased as punch about [like my gunnnnnnnn and my little hat and my earrings made from $1 holiday ornaments] so I'll try to stay optimistic about this work in progress!
