Happy Birthday to me! Ha actually I'm posting this picture in celebration of Yoruichi FINALLY making another appearance in the manga. I'm ecstatic to see her again, she's my absolute favorite anime character and I love flashbacks - I hope we see Kuukaku again soon too, I've been dying for her back-story.
I'm planning on making the 'new addition' to Yoruichi's outfit even though I have no room to wear it at AX ;-; - I'm going to buy a bunch of fabric tomorrow and I bought a new wig a few days ago.

About my costume:
I didn't actually want to go with the anime version (as I always like to cosplay from the manga since it's more true to what the author/drawer designed before the animators put in their own shiz) but I went this way for the comfort aspect. For some reason I made the white under-top really weird and it doesn't lie very well under everything so I'm contemplating going with the manga version when I wear it again.

And if you're not obsessed with Yoruichi as I am or don't quite remember her fight details, I'm holding Anken (or what I like to call 'crotch daggers' thanks to a certain LJ icon). Yoruichi throws the Anken at Soi Fon during their fight and she's also seen holding them in a calendar picture. My brother cut them out of the wood, and I sanded and painted them with 389384 coats of paint.

About the picture:
This is my absolute favorite of this costume evar. Kevin did a fantastic job with composing this one. And Long Beach is gorgeous.
