The obi (ribbony thing in the corner) is finally done, thank goodness, and is not nearly as shiny as it looks with the camera flash.

I'm also almost finished with the hand-painting. I really like the way the pattern is working - laying out paper petals ahead of time is really helping the flower design look planned instead of half-hazard. I know, the edges of the painted flowers look messy as hell - I'm going to go over them with embroidery to clean them up once the painting stage is complete.
