I'm really proud of how this shoot turned out. For those wondering, there is ABSOLUTELY NO photoshopping/CGing of my Sano pics. I was lucky enough to find a bamboo nursery in Florida that actually allowed me and my photographer Travis Patterson (pattersondigital.com) in for a one-time limited shoot.

As chance had it, we made it to the nursery during the late afternoon, when the sun was setting through the trees beautifully. And while the owner had obviously no clue what to make of me and my homemade zanbatto (he thought it looked like a giant pizza tray), things came out great.

I feel the setting recalls the beginning of the Kyoto-arc of Rurouni Kenshin, specifically Sanosuke's lost trek through the forests of Japan, eventually stumbling upon Anji and his Mastery of Two Layers.
