I slaved over that sword for a long time. It's standard cosplay prop materials: foam core coated with a hard resin, with a severely roughed up broomstick handle connected. Special thanks to lovely girlfriend (loli_chan) for her detailed paint job, giving it that nice weathered and aged, metal/stone look. It's cumbersome to carry, but actually a lot lighter than you'd think.

Regular followers of Kenshin may notice that I chose to make the broken version of the zanbatto that Sano wields briefly in the Jinchu arc. I did this for two reasons: 1. I always thought the sword looked coolest beaten and broken, and 2. There was NO way I could take a full-sized zanbatto anywhere. I still don't know how I'm going to get this to a con, explaining why in the series, Sanosuke keeps the sword outside and never even attempts to take it indoors, heh.
