Princess Peach's Crown (Final Product) -- Close-Up

Princess Peach's Crown (Final Product) -- Close-Up - Super Smash Bros. Brawl - Princess Peach
The last version I constructed of this crown had too many "issues" for my acceptance and liking. So, I searched for all the right materials and created this final product, which I am extremely proud of. Due to time constraints, only one line of raised detail was added and the angled raised details at every corner were omitted.

Constructed with 1/4 inch foam, double-enforced at base for shape rentention and fused with foam glue. Crown was woven with metal line-wire for raised detail effect. Whole crown was painted gold, retouched with gold crackling metal paste for metal texture, and then sealed with lacquer. Gems used are 18X13 mm flatback acrylic diamond gems in light rose (mauve) and Sapphire blue. Gems were atached to crown with 18x13 mm oval rim settings.

Wow! You really did a great job with this crown! I have the same questions as Aurynia, could u give me more info on how you made it? I'm having a b-day party for my little boys (Mario & Luigi) & I'm planning to dress up as peach for the party ;o) Do you have any more pictures of the crown from different angles? That's the best home made crown I have seen!

You can see a few more angles in some of the other pictures in this album, but I unfortunately don't have any more pictures than those in this album. I'll send you a pm on the basic construction. Hopefully it helps some.

I'm trying to follow what you did here, because I'm going to cosplay a Peach, too! ^^ Thank you for the materials, it helps a lot! But how did you make it, if you don't mind me asking? Is it two pieces? Like, the spiky part and the base, which is reinforced? And... more questions... (I know, sorry.. ;o how did you get it to hold together? I mean, wasn't there a big line/gap where you connected the foam? :c ... and what'd you use to keep it in your hair? xD Sorry again, for all the questions... but thank you!
