Above is a shot of the heads right after they were demolded. Below I've explained how everything is made because I think I get a message every other day with people wanting to know how they were made because they want to make the costume too.

The dress is treated with the same stuff I used on the mask it's a type of latex (it's not like liquid latex, but more like the kind used to make prosthetics). The base dress is fabric, but Lindze and I painted the latex on the dresses while we were in them. The dress shrinks a bit when you do this unless you wear it until it's completely dry and then coat it in something like baby powder so it doesn't stick to itself. Then we made a bunch of latex bits that looked like boogers. we used a bunch of stuff to get diffrent textures. We attached these to the dresses with more latex. The actual movie costumes were made out of 100% latex, but we wanted a fabric base so we could wear them several times.

Next I airbrushed both dresses to even out the color and get rid of any remaining white.

The nurse head is cast in the same latex used on the dresses. First Lindze and our friend Chris took a mold of my head and Lindzes and cast those. Next I sculpted my nurse head in clay, and Chris sculpted Lindze, that way we wouldn't have the exact same heads. We took an ultracal mold of those, and poured the latex in from the bottom. We let it sit for a few hours to build up a good thickness and then de-molded it. There was some patch work to hide the seams, and airbrush painting, but after that it was done.

The movies masks are also made in parts so it was easy to take the face part off to breath, etc. We made out masks they way we did so they would last for several wears, and also because at first we thought we would have a large group of nurses and we were going to make several more heads from our molds for everyone else to wear. In the end it was just me and Lindze. Really at this point I guess I could just make more heads and sell them as is so people could paint them how they liked. I just didn't think anyone would be interested. I guess if you are just message me.
