Whee! I finally made a cosplay from Sailor Moon.
I decided to do Chibi Usa to go along with my bubby TuskinoUsagi's Usagi for MangaNext this year.
I'm so happy with how this costume came out...I finally learned how to deal with those nasty evil knife pleats. I used cotton broadcloth for the entire costume. The patterns for the shirt were made by TsukinoUsagi and I was able to follow the design from there. We decieded to make a slight bishop sleeve to give the shirt some nice gathering and poof.
I made the wig using a tutorial by Hezachan, except I actually wefted the part in the back of the pigtails.
My boots, socks, or key, which I'm insanely proud of. The boots are completely covered with white fabric and painted with red fabric paint on the sole. I made the tiny red bows and added them on with hot glue. My socks were handed painted, with a template I created myself.
My key is made of plastic, paperclay, paint, and crystals. I created a 2d template out of plastic paper and then made the key 3d by building it up with paperclay. Once the clay harden I painted it platinum and added clear and pink crystals using glue.
I'm currently working on making a more accurate LunaP.
I earned a judges award for this costume.
