Paint the foamcore to match the hair color. You can use either acrylic paint or permanent markers, just make sure the paint doesn't melt polystyrene foam.

You can also wrap the foamcore with matching stretch fabric. This is what I usually do when I'm working with a more complex shape that I carved out of a block of extruded polystyrene foam, because I won't have to worry about the surface being rough and uneven if I just cover it with fabric. Fabric glued to the surface also keeps the material from chipping or breaking (which is, again, very helpful when you're making a more complex or long and fragile shape.)
