Turnabout Body-Shot
Sumikins
Okay, dumb title is dumb, but I realized that I hadn't yet posted a full-body picture of this, so, here is one! ...even if I am bent over. >.> Gonna take a little time to talk about the costume now.
The wig was a PAIN IN THE BUTT to style, and is probably not one of my better wigs simply because the base wig (a Tina in color 1) was not that great to start off with. The bobble both in my hair and on the necklace were made from smooth styrofoam balls, painted in several layers of varnish, sanded, and repeated, until I achieved a look I was happy with. Long and Tedious, but great practice, and nice results. The Magatama (and the golden beads) are made from sculpy, and hollowed out in the back for weight issues, and to make thread it easier. some of the art showed it as gold, and others as orange, so I mixed a metallic gold paint with orange, to get a slightly less-metallic, almost coppery color. The entire necklace is strung in Fishing Line from the dollar store, and rather than the ends being secured to each other at the back of my neck, each end is attached to a saftey pin, which I then pin to the back/shoulders of my under-robe. This keeps the necklace distributed the way I want, it doesn't slip around, and the purple over-robe covers the safety pins. The fishing line is strong, and transparent, too!
