My finally completed shield; unfortunately I didn't get any shots of it being painted, as due to the time crunch Mom did most of it and I wasn't around. Which, really, was a good thing; she's an extremely skilled painter (she's done tole painting for over six years now and paints houses/walls/woodwork as part of her job.)
But mmm. I'm so proud of it. Though I broke it before it even got to the con (NEVER take it through a door without turning it to the side....), so the tips of the bottom spikes got chipped off. But luckily I was able to paint over them before so it barely showed. But as a result, this is the only (fully intact) photo of my shield.
Oh, and the shield was hand-painted with acrylic paint (which accounts for the mottled appearance), the fading colours on the spike tips were done with spray paint.

Thanks! Only nitpick I had was that my method to "strengthen" it didn't work...so there's a slim possibility I might remake the shield at some point. But I'm definitely proud of the paint job ^_^.
