Apparently I look very happy for someone who is all burned up.

So only days before Anticipation (Worldcon 2009) I decided I was going to enter the masquerade, but I didn't want to reuse the skit I'd previously used for my High Wizard costume. Thankfully Elemental is an amazing fountain of skit ideas and pretty much handed me an idea on a silver platter on the ride back from Otakuthon. The only catch was that, to get the right affect, I needed to destroy my costume.

Thankfully I'm resourceful (and had leftovers from the original costume), so the skirt (as seen in the previous photo) is a duplicate made the day we left for Montreal, and all the other dirt patches are temporarily stitched on just for the skit. Apparently I fooled several people, who thought I'd actually done something terrible to the costume.

I'll post more information once I have better shots.

For the time being, have this photo from the greenroom and a link to a video of my performance: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qX1KdXvqBZ4

HUGE thanks to Elemental for the skit idea, Dr. Holocaust for helping me record my skit and all the audio work he did late at night, and Featherweight for his magical blowtorch skills late at night at cons. ^_^
