Some shots of my scythe from my Dark Rukia cosplay. Yard stick and Sode no Shirayuki stuck in for size references. :D

The original scythe was made by the in-laws(just like Shirayuki), and redone by me. The actual blade is wood painted a dark red color, the staff itself is just a PVC pipe. The end spike on the bottom is two styrofoam cones, some paper and masking tape. Top spike is just paper covered in masking tape. The "veins" on the blade were originally made from white branches wrapped with florist tape, but then I got creative. Everything white is completely covered in paper clay, smoothed and sanded then painted white. It took quite some time but really helped with the overall effect. The staff actually has bumps and grooves in it from my hands to help imitate the original artwork for it.
