Captain Toshiro Hitsugaya Front
Front view of my complete Captain Toshiro Hitsugaya costume.
Description of main garments...
The under garment is a 100% cotton hadajuban I bought from a martial arts site in Japan. The yukata kimono is 100% cotton I bought, made in Japan, but bought through a US site. The hakama pants are a polyester/rayon blend I bought from a martial arts site. I with some help from my Mom made the white hakama himo ties and slid them on over the existing black himo and extended the length. Front ties are 78 inches and back ties are 48 inches. They were made from my left over white bridal inspiration satin I used for my captain's haori. The captain's haori I had a wonderful lady named Carol expertly sew together for me using the Folkwear japanese kimono pattern as a basis (though she modified it). The white fabric I used is white bridal inspiration satin, and the inner lining I used dark green baroque satin. I meticulously drafted, cut out, and using the wonderful Steam-A-Seam applied all the symbols and decorations to my captain's haori using black bridal inspiration satin.
