Finally got to cast the sculpt, and here's after cleaning up the cast, painting it, and mounting it onto a cintra plate (the plate is hidden behind the belt). The buckles are mounted onto the cintra as well, do the insignia cast doesn't bear any stresses that the belt will give...

the plate also prevents its wearer from getting stabbed by any pointy bits on the insignia XD
