Well, after hours of messing up, starting over and getting frustrated, I finally started working again this morning and completed ONE of the two short gloves :( And by completed, I mean I still need to make the bullet holders and affix the grey strip properly...
So much work, but hopefully the fine attention I paid to detail will set this Lightning apart in a sea of other ones.
The gloves raise up off my arm just like hers, and the top is stitched very carefully to mimic hers; I did not just sew a strip over the glove base, I hemmed it into the rounded shape for both areas that needed top stitching. I matched the seams on the hands and thumb, but as you can see the thumb doesn't line up like hers does ;__; IF I feel anal enough to go back and buy more fabric (since I have just enough for the other glove, literally) then perhaps I'll remake it and fix the thumb and make the rounded areas on the top more pronounced...mayyybe.
This vinyl was HARD to sew into gloves. It is upholstery vinyl, NOT meant for the tiny curves of fingers and arms, but the color and texture was just too perfect...

Since you are re-making the gloves, do you think you'd ever finish this pair and sell them? Im getting started on my Lightning cosplay but haven't had ANY luck with sewing gloves.

Wow, that's an amazingly accurately detailed glove! I wish I could sew gloves =(.
I love your attention to detail. Can't wait to see both gloves completed!

Aw, thank you! I am actually remaking both of them, and so far V2 is looking much better...and even MORE accurate haha, the thumb on these bothered me a tad too much...and I'm making the raised sections MORE raised And the gold bits are also in the process of being constructed, I'm excited about these being the first thing I finish on the costume.
Sewing gloves isn't all that bad, but omg, practice makes perfect. I've also realized that pinning them ON your hand is the way to go, especially with nonstretch pvc/vinyl like this ;-;
