Every Beatrix cosplayer needs a closeup of the rose on her back... I've enjoyed looking at other cosplayers' photos of theirs, so I'm adding to the collective pile.
The material is faux suede. It's got a cushion-y look because I backed it with low-loft batting. Machine embroidered with metallic thread.
In the right corner is the tip of the lapel, which I made out of velvet. It's kind of hard to see, but I made a velvet burnout of a fleur de lis using my iron and a rubber stamp. Mostly cuz I've always wanted an excuse to use velvet in a costume, and also to do the burnout technique that I saw on a public access sewing show. Cuz I'm a dork like that.

OMG I'm SO EXCITED for this. I'm such a gigantic FFIX nerd, and after looking at all your progress I'm just... gleeful. I wish I could be at ACen this year, but I guess I'll just have to live vicariously through Rynn.
:Suddenly motivated to work on that Garnet re-make again:
