With so many people wanting to see this at ACen, I suppose I'll wind up doing this costume on Saturday, but I'll have to check with my friends to match up with their costumes, since we're all doing three costumes for ACen, not all from the same group.

Also, how did you make your pauldrons? They look really smooth and I'm debating on what material to use for my boyfriend's

Weeeeell, I'll have Morrigan in my party, so it's a little unlikely there'd be much battling.

You know how much she likes to have others handle her dirty work.

As for the pauldrons, it's the exact same process as the cuirass(chest and back plate). I started out with building a core out of cardboard, tracing that design onto black craft foam, with a little bit of falloff for when it bends. I used black for a neat texture when I lay down shades of brown over the top. Glue those chunks together, and when they dry, hit them with a shade of dark brown. Once that dries, sponge a lighter brown on top for a marble texture. The shiny effect you see comes from dumping generic white glue onto the surface and spreading it with your hands. When it dries, it should look shiny and smooth.

From there, you can tack on your plates however you please.
